About Vanessa Parsons

Vanessa Parsons is an International Master Groomer with over 36 years of professional experience in the grooming industry on the Gold Coast. She is the owner and proprietor of Country Canines Grooming Salon and co-founder of Groomer Nation, Australia’s fastest-growing online grooming education platform.

Vanessa began grooming at just 16 years old, in her first salon before going on to build one of the most successful mobile grooming services on the Gold Coast. After more than a decade in mobile grooming, she returned to salon-based work, where she now offers calm, one-on-one boutique grooming from her home salon in Currumbin Valley.

In 2024, Vanessa was awarded the PIAA Pet Industry Pioneer Award, the highest honour recognising over 20 years of service to the Australian pet industry at the highest level.

International Experience & Competition Success

Vanessa has competed and judged internationally, including major grooming events across Australia, the United States, Italy, South Korea and Singapore.

She was a non-touring member of Groom Team Australia in 2009 and proudly represented Australia as a touring team member in 2014/2015, competing internationally in Verbania, Italy in the Terrier Class.

Competition Achievements

Vanessa competed extensively at a national and international level for over a decade, placing and winning across multiple master classes including Gundog, Terrier, Poodle, Scissor Class .

Her competition career includes:

• Three Best in Show awards with three different breeds

• Multiple Runner Up Best in Show titles

• Numerous Group wins across major competitions

• Multiple Master Class wins in Terrier, Poodle and Scissor

• MasterGroom Australian Team Champion (2019)

• Queensland Royal Champion Groomer (two years consecutively)

Vanessa’s competition success spans major events including:
Ausgroom, Brisbane Royal, PIAA Melbourne, Pet Expo and MasterGroom Australia. Pasadena , Worlds Competition, Italy.

Educator & Mentor

Alongside her grooming career, Vanessa is deeply passionate about education and mentoring within the industry.

She is a regular speaker at national grooming events and conferences, including:
